The CIB Palm Hills PSA World Championships continued tonight in Giza, Egypt with four semi-final matches.
First up was a mammoth women’s match which saw World Junior Champion Amina Orfi get the better of top seed and world #1 Hania El Hammamy in a 93-minute four-game epic. Then defending champion Nour ElSherbini reached a record 12th final as she maintained her perfect record over Olivia weaver, squeezing home in the fourth.
The much anticipated clash between Mostafa Asal and Diego Elias started as expected as each took a lengthy game, but defending champion Asal dominated the final two games to reach his third final in a row. He’ll face first-time finalist Youssef Ibrahim for the title after the seventh seed got the better of former champion Karim Abdel Gawad in four games.
