“Last year I had a pretty tough draw in the first round against El Sherbini so I was out pretty quickly. So I’m really proud to get my first win.
“I’m really excited for round two. Today wasn’t really my best, I’ve been playing pretty well but I was a bit on and off. Playing in the next round hopefully I’ll be much better.
“Nadine is a very tricky player to play against – she runs around a lot and puts in some really good shots and she has really good hands. It can be hard to get the ball into the corners against her. But I’m glad I was able to win today.”
