Nicky : “Hamza is one of the most talented players, he shoots from every position and he’s going for shots that I haven’t seen for a long time. He’s fearless and I had to be on my toes. I managed to contain him in games one, two and four, but when I lost my length in the middle he punished me severely. I’m very happy to win that match.
“I think it the experience helps . I’ve been playing on the Tour for the last 15 years and I needed to push myself because I was down in the third and I needed to close the gap and show some dominance which I managed to do. I haven’t been this nervous for a match for a long time.
“I’m looking forward to playing on the outdoor glass court. It’s going to be either Mostafa Asal or Bernat Jaume so it’s going to be a tough one either way.”
