Day SEVEN : Quarter-Finals Part Two

The CIB Palm Hills PSA World Championships continue tonight in Giza, Egypt with four quarter-final matches from the bottom half of the draws.

First up is eight-time and defending champion Nour ElSherbini against Salma Hany, the 12th seed. Sherbini enjoys a 9-0 H2H advantage in PSA and 11-0 overall and hasn’t dropped a game in the last five meetings. 

The second women’s match is fourth seed Olivia Weaver against eighth seed Gina Kennedy with the American enjoying a 6-2 H2H advantage on PSA, 9-3 overall. Weaver has won each of the last six meetings, the last five without dropping a game.

In the first men’s match second seed Paul Coll meets Youssef Ibrahim in a repeat of last month’s El Gouna quarter-final which the Egyptian won to make it three in a row – Coll had won all eight meetings prior to that, though.

Last up is 2016 champion Karim Abdel Gawad in an all-Egyptian meeting with Youssef Soliman, the fourth and eleventh seeds meeting for the eighth time with Gawad ahead 6-2 including victory in a 109-minute battle in El Gouna.
