Cardenas Withdraws from Third Round Due to Injury

Mexico’s Leonel Cardenas has been withdrawn from tonight’s PSA World Championships presented by the Walter Family third round match against top seed Ali Farag due to concussion.

Cardenas, the World No.16, sustained a head injury during his second round match against England’s Curtis Malik yesterday but was allowed to continue the match after passing the Sport Concussion Assessment Test.

However, following further assessment this morning, Cardenas has been withdrawn from the tournament, meaning a walkover will be awarded to Farag.
