Chuffed is an understatement. I’m over the moon
To be honest, no tactic, I tried to play with freedom, I feel it helps with my movement, with my squash, I know how to play squash, really I’m an old man. I tried and play, little tweaks, here and there but nothing too ground breaking..
It’s completely unexpected. I should be on my way home on time for mother’s day. It’s fantastic. Over the moon I’m able to produce that level of squash in a big match.
I played some good squash this season. But this is a level above of what I played, and I’m really please it happened at the World’s Champs. This and the British Open are the biggest events on our calendar.
Yesterday, yes I was pretty relaxed because I didn’t expect anything really. But today, it was a weird one. I bet he thought – as I definitely thought – it’s a darn good draw, I’m playing some 48 in the world, and he is thinking I’m playing some 50 something in the world!
And I took advantage of that. And now I get a day off, I think!
