R3: Ibrahim holds Abou back in 4

[7] Youssef Ibrahim (EGY) 3-1 [14] Mohamed Abouelghar (EGY)  11-9, 11-5, 3-11, 11-8 (55m)

Youssef : “Beating Abouelghar is always a good win.

“He’s an extremely tough player in these conditions as well, on a back court it’s very hard against him. I thought I played really well, I stayed solid throughout the whole match. I’m very pleased with this performance and I’m excited to be in the quarters.

“You’re always trying to find the right balance between attacking and then being disciplined. I thought I stayed in front of him for the majority of the match today, so I didn’t give him any chances to attack. You always want to take your chances as well when you have it. I thought I did that pretty well and I was probably more disciplined than him today. I stayed in front of him and I’m very happy.

“It’s not fun [the shoulder injury]. I think I’m very relieved that it only I heard it crack, it wasn’t something serious, it didn’t pop out completely. It shouldn’t be too sore tonight, so I’m just going to make sure I recover well.

“I’m not looking too far ahead, every match is a tough match. Playing Paul is never easy, even though I got the better of him the last last couple of times. Previously, he got the better of me eight times in a row. Every match has different circumstances, this is a big event, and I’m sure he’s going to be looking to take his revenge.”
