“It was a big goal just to make my seeding. To be honest, I thought Farida was seeded higher than me for this event. I was just really happy to have played well today.
“I felt like I just had to keep a really calm presence. I tried to be as chilled as possible, even though I probably wasn’t feeling that chilled on the inside. I didn’t want to give much emotion or give any signs of weakness or a lack of concentration. I think she’s one of those players that feeds on momentum.
“I was trying so hard not to give her that today. It got quite close up to 7-7 each time, but I somehow managed just to pull away at the right time.
“It’s going to be a grind against Orfi. I’m expecting it to be a really tough match, but I’m really excited. She’s had a couple of wobbles this season so far, so I’m really looking forward to having a good crack at her.
“It’s absolutely huge to have my team here. It’s so important when you get to have that entourage and your team around you. They’re the ones that know you the best and they know how to help you the best. I just feel really grateful that they’re here with me.”
