Muhammad Ashab Irfan (PAK) 3-0 [28] Nicolas Mueller (SUI) 13-11, 11-9, 11-0 (30m)
Ashab
Nicki is so experienced, he is so talented, he is tall and uses his height to volley a lot.
My strategy today was to make the court as big as possible, and not to give him any chances with the ball. I managed to read the ball pretty well, and I was early on the ball, trying to kill it, and find nice counters.
I watched his matches, plus he just finished the Europeans, he had a good run as well. He is a tricky one, but I feel my game plan worked.
I should be playing Marwan ElShorbagy, he is famous on the tour for being very smart on the court. Obviously, it’s going to be tough but last summer, I came here and played him, we had a nice game, he beat me 3/2. Hopefully, I’m feeling well so we’ll see tomorrow.
A quality showing on his World Champs debut! 🔥
