Lucas : “I’m over the moon. It’s been a hard season for me and I just got in the draw. When it closed I was the last entry. I felt like I didn’t have a place here and I haven’t won too many matches recently so to win that one, and show that I’m still in the mix and I can play at that level, is huge for me.
“It’s not the first time I’ve beaten Greg – I’ve beaten him at Nationals which is a big deal for me, but it’s not quite the same as a PSA match. To finally get one on the head-to-head record is really great for me.
“He was really coming back and I was 10-7 up and I won that one in the tiebreak and it was reversed in the third. It could have gone either way but I’m really happy and it shows that I can still be resilient and I can still make those rallies long and tough and win them.”
